Who we are Plagiarism Detector is a small, independent software project - not a venture-funded platform. It is owned and operated by its developer, Yurii Palkovskii, who has written and maintained the detection engine since the first release in 2007. That engine has been tested against the field's academic benchmark, the PAN competition, in nine international evaluations between 2009 and 2026 - most recently placing 3rd of 34 teams at PAN 2026 with the highest ROC-AUC (0.997) of any team.

How we work

What you can count on

How we make money

Only from the software: desktop licences, subscriptions and AI-check credits. Payments are processed by PayPro Global, and by Apple for the Mac App Store. No ads, and we never sell data.

Your documents

The desktop apps check your documents on your own PC. Text sent to our AI detection service is deleted within 24 hours, never used to train models, and processed on servers we operate ourselves.

Independently tested

Our accuracy claims link to their sources: the PAN overview papers and leaderboards, and our own published test with a downloadable dataset.

Support

Email support and a user forum. A free demo of the desktop app before you buy, and a 7-day refund on Windows one-time licences.
